The Desert Tech MDRX is a piston-driven bullpup rifle that changes caliber by swapping barrel groups. This used example, serial MDR003664, comes set up in .308 Winchester with a 16-inch barrel and a very good bore, and the package includes conversion kits for .223/5.56mm and 6.5 Creedmoor. The spare barrels are a 16-inch .300 Blackout, a 16-inch .223/5.56mm and a 20-inch 6.5 Creedmoor. A Meprolight MOR optic with an orange circle-dot reticle is mounted, the trigger is a two-stage flat blade, ejection is forward, and the controls work from either side. A Pelican case and Harris bipod are included. Overall condition is very good.
Pennsylvania limits deer, bear and elk hunting to manually operated centerfire rifles, so a piston-driven rifle like this one belongs on the range, in training and on your own ground rather than in the November deer woods. What it offers a Pennsylvania owner is one compact receiver that runs four cartridges, from 5.56mm practice through 6.5 Creedmoor at distance, with optic, bipod and case included.
