G.R.I. Enfield Bolt Action Rifle Converted to .410 Single Shot

Serial 54852 is a G.R.I. Enfield bolt-action rifle built in 1942 and converted after the war to .410 single shot, with a 25-inch round barrel. The bore is bright and the serial numbers match. Wear is limited to light handling and service marks, which leaves the gun in very good overall condition, and the action functions as it should.

These .410 conversions were made from former military Enfields and went on to serve in India with police and prison guards, so the gun carries a second working life on top of its wartime origin. For a Pennsylvania buyer it is a military-rifle collector's piece in an unusual chambering rather than a hunting tool; the single-shot .410 action, the 25-inch barrel and the matching numbers are the points to weigh. It is a WWII-era service rifle adapted for continued use after the war.
