The Browning A-Bolt in 7mm-08 Remington is a new bolt-action rifle with a 20-inch free-floated barrel and a black synthetic stock, serial 07584YX358, UPC 023614439165. It is sold without a box, and the listing photo is a stock image rather than a picture of this exact rifle.

A 20-inch barrel keeps the rifle short and quick to carry, and because the barrel is free-floated the synthetic stock does not bear on it, so point of impact should stay put as conditions change through a Pennsylvania season. That combination suits a hunter who covers ground on foot and wants a rifle that shrugs off rain and cold without a wood stock to swell. On the paperwork side Pennsylvania has no permit to purchase, no registration and no waiting period; when you pick the rifle up at a licensed dealer you complete federal Form 4473 and the dealer runs the check through the Pennsylvania Instant Check System, operated by the State Police.
