This Smith & Wesson Military & Police is a .38 Special double-action revolver from 1953, built in the five-screw era before the Model 15 number was stamped on the frame. It carries a 4-inch pinned barrel and the diamond checkered wood grips that are correct for the period. The metal is not factory original: it has been refinished with a chrome polish, which matters if you collect by original finish, but the overall condition grades as good. Serial number K193851.

Because of that refinish, this one is a shooting revolver rather than a collector piece, and that is its appeal for a Pennsylvania buyer. A 4-inch .38 Special with a double-action trigger makes a steady home-defense gun or a club range revolver for anyone who wants a mid-century Smith without paying for untouched bluing. Pennsylvania has no permit to purchase and no state waiting period, so once the dealer's check clears you take it home that day.
