A 1964 Smith & Wesson Model 27-2 in .357 Magnum with the long 8 3/8-inch barrel. This double-action N-frame has the pinned barrel and recessed cylinder of its era, an excellent bore and about 95 percent of its original finish. The wood grips are very good and the overall condition is excellent. Serial number S240537.
With this much original finish, the 27-2 is a collector's revolver first, but it was built to be shot. The 8 3/8-inch barrel gives a long sight radius for slow-fire work at the club and gets the most velocity out of a .357 Magnum load. A Pennsylvania buyer looking for a big Smith to shoot at distance, or to put beside the rest of a 1960s collection, gets a pre-lock N-frame with almost all of its blue intact. Pennsylvania has no handgun registration, so nothing beyond the dealer paperwork is required.
