The Smith & Wesson 642-1 Airweight is an alloy-frame J-frame revolver rated for .38 Special +P, with a 1.88-inch barrel and a five-round cylinder. This used example has a satin silver finish, textured rubber grips and an excellent bore. The finish shows light wear and the overall condition is very good. Serial number DPS0282, sold from the supplier's Dallas location.

This is a pocket and ankle revolver, and the Airweight has filled that role for Pennsylvania carriers for a long time. The alloy frame keeps it light enough to forget about in a coat pocket through a Pittsburgh winter, the enclosed hammer will not snag on a draw, and the +P rating lets you load modern defensive ammunition. Five rounds of .38 Special in a gun this size is the trade most people accept for something they will actually carry every day.
