Smith & Wesson Model 2 Kittridge Marked Revolver

This Smith & Wesson Model 2 carries the scarce Kittridge marking. Kittridge and Company supplied many stores in the West, and guns shipped through Kittridge are generally assumed to have gone west. It is a later Model 2, most likely 1865 production. The metal has mostly turned to a dark grey patina, and the rosewood grips are good, with a repair on the left side.

This is an antique for a Pennsylvania collector of early Smith & Wesson revolvers and 1860s arms, where a documented distributor mark adds a story to a gun that would otherwise be one of many. The patina and the grip repair are described plainly, so the buyer knows what is in the case before it arrives. Pennsylvania has no permit to purchase, no registration and no waiting period; the transfer at your dealer runs through Form 4473, the state Record of Sale and a PICS check, and a later private sale must go through a dealer or a county sheriff's office.
